Straight bridge issues

Hey everybody!
I am working hard on my CC progress and the switch from short to straight bridges has been.... really hard! Right now I am cheating a bit by keeping my hands a little bit further back. Should I really push to do them with my hands right next to my body? It makes them a whole lot more challenging!!!

It is one of the endpoints of the strings' vibrating length. It must be accurately cut, or it can contribute to tuning problems due to string slippage or string buzz. To reduce string friction in the nut, which can adversely affect tuning stability, some guitarists fit a roller nut.
